04—The Business Proposition
New income streams, enhanced reputation, no investment
Disclaimer: Not to be too fussy, but the business proposition here is not available to all designers or design firms. Proven craftsmanship; a love for bold ideas; a working knowledge of typography, photography, illustration, color; a modicum of wit in your work. These are table stakes. Organizational rigor and reliability and general amiability also matter. Biggest thing is the pride/humility duality. If you take pride in your work and yet are humble enough to see the value of bringing in a naming/brand voice expert who understands and advocates for great design, that’s a recipe for a mutually beneficial, nay profitable, relationship.
How It Works
- Schedule a call
- If we decide to do a beta, there’s no cost to you
- We sign a letter of intent, agreeing to work together
- I provide you with a bio, and, if applicable, a head shot
- You add me to your team
- We pitch things together, and agree on estimates for each SOW
- If we don’t get the assignment, we assess together what we could have done differently
- If we do get it, I receive equal monthly payments through the duration of the project
- We kick ass together
- We repeat Steps vi—viii
